You Never Have to Be Alone Again
At the Recovery Annex, we are focused on the process of recovery from addictions and associated behaviors, we have great faith in holding space for exploring and growing spiritually. Our community is focused on recovery with a deep spiritual understanding. In hope and actual transformation we learn how to apply the tools we learn in our daily lives. We utilize the wisdom of 12 step literature, we explore books like the Bhagavad Gita, we practice prayer and meditation. Using universal spiritual wisdom, we have created a structured recovery program. Everyone should have the opportunity to recovery, heal, grow, and live a life that is happy joyous and free.
Join us, together, we can get through the challenges of addiction and not just survive, we learn to thrive.
Our Ethos
4 Pillars of Shelter
Sanghā - Community
Healthy individuals make up healthy communities,
We come together, we share our experience, strength and hope with one another. We welcome anyone who chooses to become a member, regardless of age, race, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, creed, religion or lack of religion,
We share a common purpose, to recover from addictions and associated behaviors and evolve as spiritual beings. Together we can come to a place of freedom from the bondage of the false self
Sadāchāra - Spiritual Conduct
Acting with the higher self
We encourage the practice of replacing our dysfunctional behaviors with Good Orderly Direction. Whether or not you are convinced of a higher power, this acronym of G.O.D will support us in making a decision to focus on our higher selves and act accordingly. By practicing the tools we learn in the Annex, we start to act our way into healthy thinking. We start to see our own personal and spiritual development grow, we find a new hope, we experience a life lead by higher principles and slowly, we come to a place of solid recovery and acting on higher spiritual principles becomes our nature
Sevā - Service
We only keep what we have by giving to others.
Serving our Community starts with sharing what we so lovingly received, we encourage each other to share freely of our experiences at meetings. We know that while supporting others we strengthen our own recovery. True selfless service can only be given when the “self” is recovering. We find purpose, joy, and a sense of belonging. We learn to support each other, while learning our own healthy boundaries
Sādhanā -Spiritual Practice
We encourage a Daily approach to spiritual practice, we draw from the rich traditions of Bhakti Yoga and the 12 steps of Bill W. Through working the steps, meditation, prayer, and reflection, we take action. these are our lifelines and direct connections to God.
Our pillars are the corner stones in finding and cultivating this new way of life, free from the bondage of the false self.
We urge you to remember to be kind to yourself and remind yourself that recovery is not and event, it is a process. This is a new way of life, so easy does it. The process takes time. With patients and an open mind we are well on our way.
When we walk 10 miles into the woods, we have to walk 10 miles out. Only now, you will never have to walk alone again
"The greatest gift you can give yourself is the gift of self-realization."

Bhakti and Recovery
The principles of Bhakti are especially relevant to recovery from addictions and associated Behaviours. The process of surrendering to a higher power, in steps 1,2, and 3 is the very basis of a 12 step program as it is to any spiritual path we choose. the process of Bhakti is no different. it is the basis of practicing this way of life. Letting go of our ego and control, acknowledging that self realization and spiritual transformation comes through our footwork and the grace of a power greater than ourselves.
This is a process not an event, and we cannot do it alone, but with patience, love and a supportive community we can follow this this spiritual path, recover and thrive.
