Healing and transformation are central to living a fulfilling life physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Recovery provides a practical method in reconnecting with our true-selves, our higher selves, in order to reach, live and function at our highest potential. Battling addiction alone can be a lonely and difficult road, but The Recovery Annex is a sanctuary dedicated to providing a community of spiritual support for addiction recovery founded upon the core principles of Bhakti.
The Recovery Annex provides a tailor-made recovery fellowship based and inclusive of the "Principles of Bhakti" namely, seva or service, sanga or community, sadachara or spiritual conduct and sadhana also known as spiritual practice. It is understood in the Bhakti tradition that selfless service is a powerful means by which to control our senses, and therefore our mind.
Acts of service steeped in kindness, gratitude and ultimately love foster a deeper realisation of our true identity which, when practised repeatedly and with consistency, help transcend the grip of our addiction. A deep sense of nourishment and connection experienced through such acts of service, replace our false sense of connection through our addiction. With seva or service, also comes those who are served - the sanga, otherwise known as community.
A strong nurturing community of support, where individuals uplift, encourage and challenge one another is crucial to providing a safe space to share one's journey, seek companionship and foster a sense of belonging. And finally, sadachara or spiritual conduct pertains to reformation of one's personal character through practical imbibing of spiritual principles and values as part of one' s day-to-day life. As each member seeks deep personal reformation, the community at large benefits symbiotically, such is the beauty of spiritual community to ensure long-lasting recovery.
Welcome to the Recovery Annex to begin your journey of hope, transformation, and purification. We look forward to serving you!
